Hyperhidrosis

General
Sweating can be problematic for individuals and can be embarrassing. There are many causes of sweating otherwise known as hyperhidrosis. There may be secondary causes from medications, metabolic disorders, hormonal issues etc. Other persons may have primary hyperhidrosis which occurs without any known cause. This can also occur on the palms of hands, feet and underarms. Significant hyperhidrosis can be an issue. The aim of the treatment is to temporarily block secretion of a chemical which triggers the sweat glands. The affect is noticed a few days after treatment with maximum affect in 2 weeks. This treatment has been shown to reduce 85-87% of sweating in some individuals.

Hyperhidrosis generally occurs with severity under the arms, or on the plantar aspects of the feet or palmar aspects of hands.

Your practitioner will assess the area being treated and particularly the distribution of hair follicles/sweat glands. This is more difficult to ascertain on the palm of hands and soles of feet. However a treatment pattern will be administered in this area.
